We were honored to be the keynote speaker at the Matthews, NC Chamber of Commerce luncheon on May 11. Our talk was about Gigabit Internet coming to our region, what it means, and why you should care.

Over 100 people registered for the event held at the Carmel Baptist Church in Matthews. In attendance were representatives from Windstream, an ISP that recently launched Gigabit service in Union County - read announcement here. The local Time Warner Cable (now Charter) Public Affairs representative was also in attendance.

((* Note: In order to achieve gigabit internet speeds you need to have a computer, modem, and AC wi-fi router that support the speed. We recently purchased a gigabit wif-fi router for less than $100 (TP-LINK Archer C7 AC1750 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router) and have been pleased with the results.))

The Chamber members learned about the use cases for Gigabit Internet, the providers in the area, and what this new Internet infrastructure can mean to our community for attracting talent and business, and for economic growth.
