Two Johnson & Wales University Professors, Adam C. Smith and Stewart Dompe, recently wrote a Viewpoint article for the Charlotte Business Journal:

"Google Fiber has the potential to revolutionize home use of the Internet by expanding access and significantly lowering costs. A large share of Google's profits come from ad revenue, not Internet access, so the more content and users the better. For this reason Google is willing to incur the high cost of building a parallel fiber-optic network, because cheaper, easier access will attract more users to the Internet.

Charlotte is a dynamic city with a knack for innovation and huge potential for growth. Allowing Google to build should be welcomed and encouraged."
